EDN上的文章报道了关于FPGA的新想法 —— 用MEMS继电器替代现在FPGA上用于控制互联的MOSFET。
好处如下：
* 省面积
* 可以控制开关两边的电压
* 方便与现在的工艺集成
* 静态功耗可以做到几乎为0

The paper claims that according to calculations, using the relays would result in a reduction of more than 40 percent in footprint on the die, over one-third reduction in static power, and reduction of over a quarter in critical-path delay.

当然现在一切都只在理论研究阶段，真正实用可能要等几年了。
